These books changed my life and I credit much of my success as a software engineer to the principles I’ve learned in these books. These books are perfect for building a strong foundation in software engineering/programming and the ideas are language agnostic. I hope they can help others as much as they’ve helped me!

Nicely written article. I’ve heard about the Art of Programming and the pragmatic programmer before. I think I’ll check those out first. One that seems to be popular is “You don’t know JavaScript” , perhaps a review or a few takeaways from that book would be an interesting read.
