A beginner beginner Nigerian

Are there people from Nigeria here? I am interested in learning coding. I am literally a beginner beginner. What advise do you have for me?

i’m not from wherever u live
but if u want advice then the best thing is to start figuring out what it is excatly what it is what u want to do
learn a langause in code?
dev or web?

I would like to learn development. Can you guide me to resources? Preferably free ones

Okay so if you want to go for webdevelopment:
go to https://www.freecodecamp.org
and start the first course
https://www.w3schools.com/html/default.asp

if you want to learn the other one (data science etc)
https://www.learnpython.org/

Beautiful. Thank you very much.

Follow the FCC curriculum and try to finish up to the Javascript section. Follow FCC instructions especially this too:

There’s a good chance that you would get distracted with the vastness of information on the internet if you look around too much. Try and focus on one resource. I suggest FCC (freecodecamp.org/learn), and once you feel you’ve got some good grasp on the basics, then go check out other tutorials and what not.

You’ll learn a lot here.

Hi Faith,
Nigerian here! Started my Web Dev journey in March 2020 with Udemy and FCC courses. How has your journey been so far?

I am not from Nigeria. But I am happy that you are having an interest in computer programming.
For a beginner, it is better to start with C/C++.
You can start it with Udemy, FCC courses, etc. or by consulting a book. Most books are easy to understand and have enough questions for practice.

Starting with the freeCodeCamp Javascript curriculum is good. I would not start trying to learn from a book.
