You just need to read the example and apply it to your input.

You can create placeholder text like so:

<input type="text" placeholder="this is placeholder text">
Set the placeholder value of your text input to "cat photo URL".

This is the request of the challenge.

May i know the reason for that placeholder?
and how it is generally used?

Placeholder attribute is a way to let the user know what kind of info is expected with that input. The input will function even if you omit it.

The placeholder attribute specifies a short hint that describes the expected value of an input field (e.g. a sample value or a short description of the expected format). The short hint is displayed in the input field before the user enters a value.(from: https://www.w3schools.com/tags/att_input_placeholder.asp )
