I always thought I could get through way more programming books if I had a good summary. Maybe a 400 page book could be summarized in 20 or 50 pages to capture the main ideas. Then I could get through that detailed summary much faster, and also use it as a reference in future. It’s not quite as good as reading the actual book, but if i had to choose between reading programs of: 2 books a month, or 1 book and 5 detailed summaries then I’d probably choose the latter.
I started on a detailed summary of Clean Code for anyone interested in a good summary. Here’s Chapter 1 of Clean Code: https://technotes.app/clean-code-introduction-chapter-1/.
