Disable an Element Using jQuery

Tell us what’s happening:
I’m trying to go to the next challenge, but it won’t let me: I believe I’ve typed this correctly:

$("#target1").prop(“disabled”, true);

Your code so far

  $(document).ready(function() {
    $("#target1").css("color", "red
$("#target1").prop("disabled", true);
  });
</script>

<!-- Only change code above this line. -->

<div class="container-fluid">
  <h3 class="text-primary text-center">jQuery Playground</h3>
  <div class="row">
    <div class="col-xs-6">
      <h4>#left-well</h4>
      <div class="well" id="left-well">
        <button class="btn btn-default target" id="target1">#target1</button>
        <button class="btn btn-default target" id="target2">#target2</button>
        <button class="btn btn-default target" id="target3">#target3</button>
      </div>
    </div>
    <div class="col-xs-6">
      <h4>#right-well</h4>
      <div class="well" id="right-well">
        <button class="btn btn-default target" id="target4">#target4</button>
        <button class="btn btn-default target" id="target5">#target5</button>
        <button class="btn btn-default target" id="target6">#target6</button>
      </div>
    </div>
  </div>
  </div>

I believe this part is problematic. You are missing the other pair of quotes and brackets after red :slight_smile: So it is just a syntax error, that prevents other parts of code from working.

I recommand using developer console in your browser (In Google Chorme Ctrl+Shift+J, more info here), and there you can see if there are any syntax errors in your code.

$(document).ready(function() {
    $("#target1").css("color", "red

Thank you so much!!! @VukMNE
