First Full-Stack App

First Full-Stack App
0

Hi guys!

After a few weeks of toiling and seeking help and guidance from others, I made my first full-stack application!

By “full-stack”, I mean it uses both a backend port and a frontend port.

Wanna check it out and let me know what you think? What do you like about it? What could be better?

Here’s the link to my repo on Github: https://github.com/Dusch4593/book-finder-app

Thanks-in-advance!

Brandon

I took a quick peek at the files, it all looks very professional. How long approx did this take you?

Would be benefitial for you,
if you would setup a demo,
so that people, that are not into using Github, npm etc. (Recruiters…),
can see it too.

And: no need to commit /node_modules,
this will blow up your repo size.

User should do a npm install

It took me a couple weeks. I had zero experience working with backends so there was a bit of a learning curve.

That’s a good idea! What’s a good way to make a demo? Github Pages? Screenshots?

I would deploy it on a platform, that can run the code, e.g. Heroku,
and use it with an API key only for this purpose.

You can input your API key on Heroku, so there won’t be any security issues.
