so I have my first web developer job this coming Monday. and I am freaking out. I have been learning (on and off) for about a year now. I feel like I know the basics of front end really well… kind of understand intermediate JavaScript but have not used some of those concepts first hand. this company knows a little bit about me in that I’m a new comer but I still can’t help but feel I’m going to blow the interview. I’m worried about them asking me to explain something that I’m not 100% sure on because most things I will do a quick Google search then I get it. anyways if anyone has some tips or maybe resources I should look at feel free to send them my way !! thanks freecodecampers !!!
Chillax. If they know you’re a newcomer and still called, they are not expecting you to be the ultimate super hacker.
So don’t be afraid to give an incomplete answer, an “I think ____”, or even answer “i’d google that”, 'cause in a certain way, that’s what’s expected.
Here’s a good guide on front end interview questions so if you have the time, check it out to have an idea of what they may ask, if that makes you boost your confidence.
But in a junior interview they’ll be looking for your enthusiasm, your adaptability, your personality and ability to work in teams, and personal qualities that will make you a great developer and a valued asset for the company over time. No one is expecting you to know everything.
As facundocorradini mentioned, they don’t expect you to know everything. If you want, I can chat with you about my interview prep email series and fast-track you through (it’s usually a daily email for 6 weeks, but I can blast them all to you in one shot if you want). The series examines common questions you’ll get asked, and maybe not the way to answer it perfectly but to rather help you understand why that kind of topic is important to me as your interviewer.

It’s free, no ads, you can unsubscribe any time, and the full text comes in the email so there’s no logging in online to go read everything so you can re-read the text from your own inbox whenever you want. I’ve had lots of students from FCC use the series, and you can reply to any message to reach me directly with questions, etc…
thanks I’ll be sure to keep that all in mind to calm my nerves !!
