I'm kind of confuse between the anchor element and the a element

Tell us what’s happening:

Your code so far

<h2>CatPhotoApp</h2>
<main>

  < a href = "http://freecatphotoapp.com">cat photos/a>

  <img src="https://bit.ly/fcc-relaxing-cat" alt="A cute orange cat lying on its back.">

  <p>Kitty ipsum dolor sit amet, shed everywhere shed everywhere stretching attack your ankles chase the red dot, hairball run catnip eat the grass sniff.</p>
  <p>Purr jump eat the grass rip the couch scratched sunbathe, shed everywhere rip the couch sleep in the sink fluffy fur catnip scratched.</p>
</main>

anchor element is the <a a tag. Same thing!

In order for your anchor element to work though you need a proper closing tag like this:
</a>

Look at your code and check if you have a proper closing tag.

Also remove extra spaces in front of the ‘a’ and after the ‘href’ as extra spaces can be syntactically wrong and/or sometimes confusing to the testing code that checks your code.
