I think the link you mentioned is different from what you discussed above. I guess you tried " Basic HTML and HTML5: Link to Internal Sections of a Page with Anchor Elements". It asks to change (not add an internal link) your external link to an internal link by changing the href attribute to “#footer” and the text from “cat photos” to “Jump to Bottom”. But, you didn’t change your external link. You just added an internal link. If you remove the external link, then it should work.
