Tell us what’s happening:

When I tried to run the below code, the browser is opening a new tab showing the free code camp website. It does not go down to show the footer. Can someone help me to solve this issue?

Your code so far

You need to add the id “footer” to your footer element.

I have mentioned the id “footer” to my footer element in the code. But still it is not working. It is still opening a new tab.

The code that you showed us does not have the id “footer” applied. You need to share your most recent code in order for us to be able to help you.

This is the revised code. I have added the id attribute to the footer.

I’ve edited your post for readability. When you enter a code block into the forum, precede it with a line of three backticks and follow it with a line of three backticks to make easier to read. See this post to find the backtick on your keyboard. The “preformatted text” tool in the editor (</>) will also add backticks around text.

When I run the tests with your code above, they pass.

Well, I tried refreshing and resubmitting the code. It is showing that the test run is successful. But when I click on Jump to Bottom link on the page, it does not scroll down to footer. By the way, is it supposed to go down?

Oooh. I see what you’re saying. I think that’s just an issue with the in-browser demo.
