Tell us what’s happening:
I’m being told to nest the a element within my new p element, but as far as I can tell I’ve done that. I’ve tried refreshing the page and also reseting the code but recieve the same error msg.

Your code so far

<h2>CatPhotoApp</h2>
<main>
  <p> View more <a href="htpp://www.freecodecamp.org">cat photos</a></p>

  <a href="http://freecatphotoapp.com" target="_blank">cat photos</a>

  <img src="https://bit.ly/fcc-relaxing-cat" alt="A cute orange cat lying on its back.">

  <p>Kitty ipsum dolor sit amet, shed everywhere shed everywhere stretching attack your ankles chase the red dot, hairball run catnip eat the grass sniff.</p>
  <p>Purr jump eat the grass rip the couch scratched sunbathe, shed everywhere rip the couch sleep in the sink fluffy fur catnip scratched.</p>
</main>

Hello everyone. I guess i am raising this thread from the dead, but i figured better that then to open a whole new thread under the same topic.

Namely, I’ve just started my HTML course and just like the OP, I am having issues with nesting the anchor element within a new paragraph. Can anyone help?

Code so far:

<h2>CatPhotoApp</h2>
<main>
  <p>View more <a href="https://www.freecodecamp.org/">cat photos</a></p>
  <a href="http://freecatphotoapp.com" target="_blank">cat photos</a>

  <img src="https://bit.ly/fcc-relaxing-cat" alt="A cute orange cat lying on its back.">

  <p>Kitty ipsum dolor sit amet, shed everywhere shed everywhere stretching attack your ankles chase the red dot, hairball run catnip eat the grass sniff.</p>
  <p>Purr jump eat the grass rip the couch scratched sunbathe, shed everywhere rip the couch sleep in the sink fluffy fur catnip scratched.</p>
</main>

Thanks in advance and sorry for creating more clutter. :persevere:

Hi! Try this::
<p>View more <a href=“http://freecatphotoapp.com” target="_blank">/">cat photos</a></p>

Thank you for the reply.

However - no dice. The console constantly returns me with the same result:

// running tests

Your a element should be nested within your new p element.

// tests completed

I skipped this one and continued with the lessons, along the Curriculum. It just feels bad for not completing this simple task. :tired_face:

Your code needs to look like this:

<h2>CatPhotoApp</h2>
<main>

<p>View more <a href=“http://freecatphotoapp.com” target="_blank" >cat photos</a></p>

<img src=“https://bit.ly/fcc-relaxing-cat” alt=“A cute orange cat lying on its back.”>

<p>Kitty ipsum dolor sit amet, shed everywhere shed everywhere stretching attack your ankles chase the red dot, hairball run catnip eat the grass sniff.</p>

<p>Purr jump eat the grass rip the couch scratched sunbathe, shed everywhere rip the couch sleep in the sink fluffy fur catnip scratched.</p>
</main>

Tried.

Used just that line - didn’t work.
Tried again, by deleting everything and then copy-pasting your own - nothing.

However, I rewrote the damn thing for the third time and it worked. Finally! I’ll paste it here, for posterity if nothing else:

  <p>View more <a href="http://freecatphotoapp.com">cat photos</a></p>

The double line was the issue the first time (as shown in my first post to this thread) but somehow i missed that. And then addition of:

target="_blank">

within the anchor element.

sigh so much frustration on a typo. :disappointed_relieved:
