New Study/Support group

Hi, Just to let you know I spent a couple of hours tonight getting acquainted with MDN since I hadn’t known what that was when you mentioned it. The goal is to work more with GitHub tomorrow. I have yet to try doing a pull request - simply because I didn’t get around to it tonight. I also plan to start uploading FCC lessons onto GitHub.

Thanks you
May I know how to join the group

Friends , I think if we want to be ready for the real world environment of software development , we have to emulate the real thing. I am talking about theoretical and practical knowledge of Version control, Collaboration tools, SDLC , Project management tools , Wireframing tools etc . Don’t worry if you never heard of the the things above. We will introduce these tools gradually so that everyone will have an opportunity to learn (Even a complete newbie). For starters we should all learn how to use Git & Github starting today ! It is VERY IMPORTANT that everyone in the group be able to use basic commands like " init, clone, add, commit, status, push , pull etc". You can learn online for free.
Learn the basics of “git” first .

@hsingh5 , Thank you for mentioning slack. I am thinking about “slack + GitHub + a free IDE (like ATOM)” integration once everyone here is comfortable enough to use GitHub. What do you think ? I will call you later tomorrow.

@emerson1, You are in ! Please read the above post; Link : New Study/Support group

@Bergi5 , Good job. You read my mind ! Read this post if you haven’t already. Link : New Study/Support group

Instead of Atom what about codepen? I am fine to work with either of them!

I use both codepen and atom. We can use both. I like that atom is fully opensource. The collab feature is not free on codepen, But codepen has a very good interface. Whenever I am testing other peoples code I use codepen because its so easy and intuitive.

Thanks for the links! (I just wish I could adjust the speed… )

I’ve been doing codepen but Atom will work too  (and yes, I see I downloaded it already ;))
