What is the difference between learn.freecodecamp.org and the regular www.freecodecamp.org. I mean I see obvious differences and learn.freecodecamp.org has more courses. Is this the next iteration of freecodecamp beta that’s on beta.freecodecamp.org? So confused with the 3 URLS… I already started to work through the “www” path. Should I switch to “beta” or “learn”? Please help!

#316

As someone who is just starting out… should I use this curriculum?
Or should I use the regular freecodecamp curriculum available now?

#317

@Cisco, From previous comments on here that I have seen, many have suggested to use the learn.freecodecamp.org curriculum and save your work as it will not be brought with you once the new content goes live.

I myself am working through the new curriculum as it has more things that I am looking for and saving my work locally.

#318

so the new curriculum does not save your work as you go now? How are you saving your work?

I have a mac and I just downloaded Brackets. Would I save it on there?

#319

learn.freecodecamp.org is now part of the live platform. should not have to do the previous comment i mentioned. seems that with the maintenance it was rolled out live.

#320

Super cluttered and don’t want to check my email every time I want to log on. Please change the layout and login back.

#321

You posted the same comment in a different thread about 30 minutes before you posted to this thread. I believe you should only have to check your email once to login as long as you do not clear your cache and are on the same device. I could be mistaken, but I believe that was the intent of the new password-less login process.

#322

Actually it has been happening to me to, I don’t mind the email sign in but if i close the tab where learn is I have to go through the process again.

#323

It could be a bug that they will need to fix. If it is a bug, I am sure someone is probably already working on it as I type this message.

#324

Sorry I correct myself, there is an option to ‘save’ your login clicking the text:

‘If you previously signed in using Google, Facebook, GitHub, Twitter, or LinkedIn, click here to add an email address to your account and sign in.’

It seems to do the trick of keeping you loged on.

Hi Randell,

I know this isn’t the case for everyone, but on a public and or work computer, I log in using a private browsing session, which means that I need to check my email every time I want to log in. So this is still an annoyance. Perhaps the email log in should be an offered option alongside traditional log in, instead of the only way to log in.

My opinion on the other issue, the cluttered layout, remains the same as well. I much prefer the old “map”

Very well done folks :heavy_check_mark: :heavy_check_mark:

So much more depth and rational chunks. Many of the things I was earmarking to find other mini courses to cover some gaps are very well covered now within the new live framework.

Working through the expanded css/ responsive design stuff and happy to see the react and other libs amd app I could just go on amd on.

This is wonderful.

Relatively smooth migration as well. Log in issues no big deal only odd thing and this is a small thing is that current months heatmap not visible on desktop but is visible on my phone.

Usually when I have visibility issues with elements its the other way around the phone .

Also often when I click of explore curriculum website goes blank and hangs then I refresh and click view curriculum again and modal box works as intended.

Again minor stuff love the upgrade and it is a big one. Thanks for all your efforts again and again!

#327

Thanks for your kind words.

I just want to confirm that we have open issues for all of the bugs you’ve pointed out here, and are working hard to fix them as quickly as possible

Happy coding!

#328

Thanks for your feedback. We’re moving away from passwords for security reasons, so that is a permanent change. Sorry it’s proving to be inconvenient for you when you use incognito.

As for the map, I completely agree. We’ve overhauled the map and it should be live in the next few hours

#329

We’re working on an elegant solution to this. For now you can copy-paste your solutions into Brackets since you’re already using it.

#330

@QuincyLarson: The content is very good.

#331

I really enjoy the expanded content. I think it is very thorough and I certainly appreciate all your hard work.

I’m not sure this is the best place to report this, but there seems to be a bug in the React lessons. In the lesson “Create a Component with Composition”, my browser froze the first time I ran the tests. Now, when I navigate back to that page it freezes right off the bat. Any help addressing this would be appreciated.

#332

Thanks for letting me know. I recommend creating a GitHub issue and adding as much detail as possible, including screenshots if possible. https://github.com/freeCodeCamp/freeCodeCamp/issues/new

I’ve been gone for a while, and was hoping that once I came back, all of this would be straightened out and I could start with the new curriculum. Here it is October, and I still don’t know for certain if the current (learn) is the new one. I’m just looking through the forum trying to find an answer. I hope you’ve gotten an answer somewhere.

The current curriculum is the new version (which started as the Beta). Most bugs (if not all major ones) have been resolved. Have fun with the new curriculum!
