Quick update on beta/master deployment

Hi Everyone,

We have not been able to deploy the latest master to our beta test playground (Currently available here) for quite a while now.

Edit: We are back to deploying master quite frequently now!

Also there is a huge backlog for the QA of the platform code fixes and PR reviews from the Dev Team.

This is mostly due to the fact that the dev team is currently swamped with additional internal priority tasks. We are making an effort to get the pipeline streamlined. We do not have any ETA on when the next update will be. We are extremely sorry for the delays and inconvenience.

Meanwhile, I request your patience with it. We will make an announcement here and on the forum when we make the next update.

As a reminder, this beta playground is just a place where we drop our current code from master every now and then. This is just to augment local development and test how the code will behave when we ship it to production in future. You can also learn more about the limitations here as well: https://github.com/freeCodeCamp/freeCodeCamp/issues/34872

Thanks for all your continued efforts on it.

Feel free to drop any queries on this thread, we will be happy to clarify any questions you have for us.

@raisedadead thanks for the update, so the beta playground deployment is from the master branch of the main fcc github page correct ? or is there another master branch that the beta playground is deployed from ?

Yes, it is from the master branch. Currently we deploy this manually every few days, so the code could become stale within a day or two. However a more automated solution is in works. Thanks for your patience on that.

We just updated the beta site to the lastest master. Thanks for your patience and happy contributing. Note: Please close outstanding issues on the GitHub Tracker that you find are resolved.

Hi everyone,

Going forward, we would comment on the https://github.com/freeCodeCamp/freeCodeCamp/issues/34872 with a commit hash of the last deployed version of the beta site.

Like so:

This way you can follow which version of master is out their on beta.
