Required Challenges for certificates

The old FCC had an Astrek (*) next to the required challenges to get a certificate which allowed you to skip some.

Currently there is no identifier and on the settings page, you can just post projects to claim the certificates.

Does that mean experienced people can just do the projects and claim the certificates or do they have to grind all the way from the start?

There are 6 new certifications, each requires 5 final projects.
The 3 legacy certifications requirements are the same.
Other lessons/challenges are optional.

Each group of “projects” on the curriculum is associated with a certificate. These are the only requirements. They correspond to the challenges that were marked with a * in the old map.
