Ali runs the popular Zen of Programming blog, where she writes about design, data visualization, and other programming topics. She talks about how her interests in political journalism lead to a passion for data and data journalism.

Ali also talks about her love of Python. She reads the poem "The Zen of Python" and talks about how it has influenced her programming style and her way of thinking about software development.
